Frescolita
Frescolita was launched in 1956 by the company Hit de Venezuela in an attempt to capture market share from Coca-Cola, which dominated the soft drink market. As in most places, Coca-Cola is the market leader, but Frescolita does hold 10% of the Venezuelan soft drink market. It is a staple at parties and birthday celebrations.
Ironically, Frescolita was purchased by Coca-Cola FEMSA in 1996.
Frescolita is not a cola and does not contain kola nut. It tastes like bubble gum.
