SPAR American Cola

SPAR is a retail cooperative founded in the Netherlands in 1932. After expanding into Belgium in 1947, the company gradually developed into an international retail network, with its headquarters located in Amsterdam. Today, SPAR stores are found in dozens of countries worldwide.

Alongside its role as a retailer, SPAR has long marketed food and beverage products under its own name. Private label colas were already part of SPAR’s assortment by at least the 1970s. The specific product Spar American Cola was introduced later, in 1995, as a continuation of this earlier private label cola tradition.
