Urban Cola (Spain)

The small Spanish island of Gran Canaria off the coast of Morocco is home to Aguas Minerales de Firgas, a long-established soft drink producer. Its range of carbonated soft drinks and bottled water is primarily distributed within the archipelago.

Urban Cola was launched in 2013 by Firgas as part of the Urban series, which also included orange and lemon variants. From its introduction, the Urban soft drinks were sold in 620 ml PET bottles, a peculiar size that differs from the commonly used 500 ml format in Europe. At a later stage, the range was also made available in 2-liter PET bottles.

Urban Cola contained 7.3 g of sugar per 100 ml. The Urban soft drinks were available across the Canary Islands and in major cities on mainland Spain. In 2023, Urban Cola was updated with a new recipe. Production of Urban Cola and the rest of the Urban series was discontinued at the end of 2024.
