Sixty years ago Ritchie was one among many lemonade manufacturers in Belgium. It was a family business owned by the Verlinden family. They started producing traditional lemonades in the 1950s up until the late 1970s when production seized.
Around 2010 Jan Verlinden came home to Belgium after 15 years of pursuing an international career in marketing. Once back, the idea of resurrecting the old family business came to him. Now, you can once again enjoy Ritchie lemonades with orange and lemon flavour – and also their Natural Cola.
It is unclear to me if the Natural Cola is brought back from the old days or if it is a modern addition to the portfolio.
Jan Verlinden’s career in marketing has not been in wain. The Ritchie website and Facebook-page are covered with delicious photos, and their bottles are sculptures in their own right. Jan Verlinden has also given the bottles a further twist – a twist-off cap to save you the struggle of finding a bottle opener!
