Nata Cola
The family-owned Nata Minerale traces its roots back to 1956, when it was founded in northern Poland. For decades it produced plastic goods, until the early 1990s brought an unexpected turn: a newly purchased plot of land made it possible to establish an underground borehole with access to high-quality mineral water. In 1992 a modern bottling plant was built, and the Nata brand was created, named after the owner’s daughter Natalia. Within a remarkably short time the company was even bottling Pepsi under license for the Polish market, an impressive leap for a newcomer in the beverage field.
The Pepsi partnership eventually came to an end, and the company responded by launching its own cola. Nata Cola was most likely introduced around 2006–2007, with the Wayback Machine confirming that it was in production by May 2007. While mineral waters remained the heart of the business, the cola marked an effort to diversify and positioned Nata as more than just a water bottler in Poland’s competitive soft drink market.
