Kuffeyah Cola
“A taste of resilience, a sip of change” is how Kuffeyah Cola presents itself. It was launched in August 2024 by Mohammed Wafi, who came to England from Gaza with his parents and five siblings and later settled in Newcastle upon Tyne. The family has operated a Palestinian and Lebanese restaurant and shisha bar in the city for several years. The brand takes its name from the keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian scarf associated with Palestinian national identity.
The company states that 50 percent of its profits are donated to the Palestine Red Crescent Society and that a further 30 percent are allocated to other humanitarian causes. According to the founder, the decision to launch a range of colas and sodas developed from experience in the family’s restaurant business.
The original variant contains 4.9 g of sugar per 100 ml and is additionally sweetened with sucralose. A sugar-free version is sold under the name Diet. Flavored variants include Watermelon and Mojito. Kuffeyah Cola is distributed from the United Kingdom and marketed online.

The brand forms part of a category of politically themed colas that includes Mecca Cola (France, 2002), Qibla Cola (UK, 2003), and Zamzam Cola (Iran). More recent examples include Palestine Cola (Sweden, 2024), Gaza Cola (London, 2023), and Salaam Cola (Ireland, 2023).
