Kickin’ Energy Cola

KICKIN’ Energy is a series of energy drinks produced for the Danish import company Hansen & Co. The first flavor was a cola, launched in November 2024. As of summer 2025, it remains the only available variant, but their website promises more are on the way.

Hansen & Co has imported all kinds of beverages from around the world since 1985, distributing them across Scandinavia. It’s unclear whether the Kickin’ series marks their first attempt at acting as a producer as well. According to the can, the drink itself was bottled “somewhere in the EU”—most likely in Germany.

Kickin’ Cola contains 32 mg of caffeine per 100 ml, which is also the maximum allowed amount for an energy drink in the EU. The drink also packs a hefty 11 g of sugar per 100 ml, so if you’re trying to watch your waistline, this one comes with a warning. That burst of energy you feel after drinking it probably comes more from a sugar rush than from all the other compounds typically found in energy drinks.

Of course, the drink also contains taurine—even though it’s well-established that it has no performance-enhancing effects.

Under the slogan “Get Kickin'”, the team behind Kickin’ Energy is trying to market the drink as “not just a drink; it’s a lifestyle choice.” It’s aimed at those who “live life on the edge” and want to “push their limits.”
