Henri Sodas Kola

Under the slogan “Brassé en petits lots à Montréal” (brewed in small batches in Montreal), a small range of soft drinks was introduced in September 2015 under the brand name Henri Sodas. From the outset, the range consisted of three flavors: cola, root beer, and spruce beer.

The brand is produced by Sodas Henri Inc.. It was created by Jean-François Leduc, whose passion for coffee had earlier led him to found the coffee shop chain Café Saint-Henri and the related micro-roaster Saint-Henri Micro-Torréfacteur, both based in the Saint-Henri neighborhood in Montreal.

Henri Sodas Kola is sweetened with cane sugar, with a sugar content of approximately 11.3 g per 100 ml. The packaging, including elegant glass bottles and simple labels, received attention among designers in the brand’s early years, and the products later also became available in cans.

Brand communication and marketing in the early years were characterized by participation in local events in Montreal, with an emphasis on local anchoring before broader expansion. It does not appear that the brand ever achieved wide distribution. The company’s online presence is minimal: official accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook have not been updated since 2016, and the official website was shut down in 2022. In early 2026, Henri Sodas remains available only through a small number of specialty shops in Montreal.
