Goldberg Premium Cola
When a German pharmacist set up soda production in India in 1903, few could have guessed that his name would still be tied to a cola launched more than a century later. Goldberg Premium Cola, introduced in March 2023, carries that legacy—though today under very different ownership.
The story begins with Jacob M. Goldberg, who emigrated from Germany to India in 1901 and soon after established a business producing sodas and bitter essences. In 1918 he introduced the hunting dog logo, still used on the bottles and cans today. The Goldberg family remained at the helm until 1952, after which the brand passed through different hands but never fully disappeared from the beverage landscape.
In its current form, Goldberg & Sons belongs to Beverage Brands Holding Limited, based in Dubai. The brand has been revitalized as a premium mixer label, best known for tonic water, ginger beer, and flavored sodas designed for cocktails. With the launch of Goldberg Premium Cola, the lineup was extended to include a cola crafted for bars and gastronomy, positioning itself more as a companion to spirits than as a soft drink for everyday consumption.
