Easis Cola
The sugar-free Easis Cola was introduced in 2021 and is produced by the company Easis from Aarhus, Denmark. The cola is sweetened with sucralose and forms part of the company’s range of reduced- and no-sugar foods and beverages.
The company behind the cola was founded in 1993 as a small-scale operation producing sugar-free ice cream. The initial activity grew out of a catering business that required desserts without added sugar, and the first commercial product launched was ice cream. Over time, Easis expanded its portfolio beyond ice cream to include an assortment of more than 400 low-calorie food and beverage products.
The original company name was ISIS, derived from its legal form as an interessentskab (I/S) and from the Danish word “is,” meaning ice cream. In the spring of 2016, the company changed its name to Easis. The name change was publicly linked to avoiding associations with the terrorist organization Islamic State, which had implications for market access abroad.
