Cola Bona (Italy)

Among the many regional colas of Italy, Bona Cola stands out as a Sicilian classic. It is produced by SBEG Bona S.r.l. (Siciliana Bevande Gassate), a company founded in 1947 in Augusta, Sicily. The firm takes its name from its founder, Vincenzo Bona, who had already been bottling soft drinks locally in the early 1940s.

Bona quickly became a household name across Sicily, building a reputation on gassosa and other traditional Italian sodas before adding a cola to its line-up. The precise year of introduction is not documented, but Cola Bona has been part of the range since at least the post-war years, making it one of the long-standing regional alternatives to Coca-Cola and Pepsi in the Italian market.

Today the company still emphasizes its Sicilian identity, offering a portfolio that mixes traditional flavors with international staples.
