Club Cola (Kenya)

Kenya’s Club Cola was introduced in 2014 as part of the Club Soda line — a modern range created to revive domestic soda production. Produced by Highlands Drinks Limited in Nyeri, the cola debuted alongside orange and lime, later joined by pineapple, tangawizi (ginger), and piña colada.

Highlands has produced non-alcoholic beverages since 1954. The company served as Pepsi’s Kenyan bottler from 1986 until the early 1990s, after which it focused mainly on cordials, bottled water, and energy drinks. Backed by Dutch investors from 2009, Highlands modernized its facilities and returned to carbonated beverages with the Club Soda brand in 2014, which was rebranded simply as Club in 2018.

Today, Highlands appears to have secured a solid foothold in Kenya’s soft drink market.
