Barrel Smoked Cola
Founded in 2017, The Artisan Drinks Company is a British producer of mixers whose original range included Barrel Smoked Cola. The cola was launched in the UK in 2018 alongside Classic London Tonic, Skinny London Tonic, and Violet Blossom Tonic.
The company was founded by Steve Cooper, artist Alan Walsh, and bartender Mikey Enright. The idea behind the business originated in Sydney, Australia, where Cooper and Walsh met Enright, an English bartender and owner of The Barbershop. The three developed the concept for a range of mixers for craft spirits, with Walsh creating the distinctive illustrated artwork used on the bottles.
The recipe for Barrel Smoked Cola was developed by Enright, who created it with rum among the intended pairings. In addition to familiar cola flavors such as cola, citrus, cinnamon, and vanilla, the recipe includes smoked oakwood and roasted barley malt extract. It is sweetened with cane sugar and contains 9.7 g of sugar per 100 ml.
