What makes VOLT Power Cola stand out in the crowd is the absurd level of caffeine. It contains 32 mg caffeine per 100 ml which is the maximum allowed by EU law. It is more than three times as much as Coca-Cola (about 95 mg/l).
Back in the 1990s KDM Marketing- und Vertriebs GmbH in Germany started importing the American Jolt Cola which was also known for its high level of caffeine. Jolt gained some kind of cult status among German gamers and LAN party-goers.
When the company behind Jolt Cola went bankrupt in the summer of 2010 KDM decided producing its own high caffeine-level alternative. The result was VOLT Power Cola which in both name and design pays homage to Jolt Cola.
According to their website VOLT Power Cola is available in Germany, Finland, Sweden, and Ireland.
